Frizzy Hair Remedies

First, I would like a moment to explain, I am a graduate of Arlington Beauty Academy, and I have worked in a Beauty Supply Store for many years. But that means nothing. If you do not personally have frizzy hair, as you and I do, you just do not understand how hard it is to find products that work well. What makes me an expert on this subject is personally having frizzy hair and by trial and error coming up with remedies!

Frizzy Hair Remedies, the basics
Start by washing your hair. Honestly, 3 times a week is plenty. Shampoo your hair and then use a deep conditioner. Do not use leave in conditioners. My personal favorite is by Rusk, and you will notice I have hand picked the ads on my page, which are my personal favorites. All of the products I will mention you can find somewhere on my blog page. Although my favorite shampoo and conditioner is Rusk, honestly, in my opinion any shampoo and deep conditioner will work.

Frizzy Hair Remedies- Towel Dry your hair
Towel dry your hair and then comb it out. Now, you will apply Tresemme Mouse. I have literally tried every mouse available, including expensive ones. Tresemme is the best for frizzy hair and it's nice and cheap! Put the mouse in your hands and dispert through your hair evenly.

Frizzy Hair Remedies- curly style
If you will be wearing your hair curly, simply scrunch your hair and then leave it alone and blow dry. Make sure to dry your hair ALL the way. You can attach a diffuser to the end of your blow dryer, as well. They make Blow dryer's you can sit under and those are wonderful for frizzy hair! Read a magazine and let your hair dry under the cap!

Frizzy Hair Remedies- Straighten your hair
Believe it or not, even if I am going to straighten my hair I still apply the mouse. My hair turns out better. Blow dry your hair thoroughly and then I sear by Rusk Ceramic Hot Irons. They get nice and hot which is perfect for frizzy unruly hair and they are smooth. They are not the cheapest on the market but worth every penny and more. My last Flat iron by them lasted 7 years, and my daughter uses my flat iron. I have included these flat irons around my blog for you to check out.

Frizzy Hair Remedies- Apply Serum to straight hair style
After I straighten my hair I apply Rusks Sea Kelp serum. It leaves your hair sealed, straight and soft as a baby butt. The funny thing is I do not work for or get any money from Rusk) although I wish I did. There products just seem to work wonders for frizzy hair. The first time I learned of Rusk I was at a salon and the beautician had straightened my hair far better than I ever had, and I asked her about the hot iron and went out and bought one immediately. I have never looked back since!

Best Ceramic Flat Iron

I have graduated Arlington Beauty Academy and worked in a beauty supply store for many years, but that means nothing. I have the most hard to deal with unruly hair. My hair is kinky and probably, the frizziest hair you have ever seen. I tend to wear my hair curly at times and straight at times. Sometimes I will do a combination and flat iron some of my hair and leave some curly, it sounds crazy but looks cute.

Best Ceramic Flat Iron & other favorite personal favorites
In my 38 years I have tried many many products. I am dedicating this blog to my absolute favorite, best products, which I have hand picked and found at Amazon and personally added each to my blog, so you can feel free to check them out.

In my opinion, the absolute best ceramic flat iron is by Rusk. (And PS, I do not work for Rusk or make any money from Rusk whatsoever) I own and have tried a few different models of flat irons by Rusk that are ceramic and LOVE them all. The Rusk Flat Irons gets super hot, but have adjustable heat. So if you have easy hair to work with, you may choose a lower heat setting. If you have frizzy or curly hair like I do, use a hotter setting and you will be amazed at how baby soft and straight your hair is.

I personally am a cheapskate. I like to call myself Queen of Bargains (it sounds better) but there a few things in life that are not worth settling on. Flat Irons are one of them. Can you get a cheaper flat iron? Yes, but does it work as well, no. Trust me I have tried many. Rusk flat hot irons are not the most expensive out there either, but they are the absolute best. My last flat iron from them lasted over 7 years, and my daughter and I share it and use it often. When I think of how long these flat irons last, they are well worth the money, as well. Quite honestly, finding the best hot iron is the most important issue, and to be honest, I would pay anything to have my hair look smooth and sassy.

I was brave this post and have included a picture of my hair before styling, I am a bit of a cheater though, my hair has Tresemme mouse in it, I will try to post a picture soon with no product in at all.

If you have been reading my blogs, you know I am the Queen of frizzy hair. I have graduated Arlington Beauty Academy and also worked for a while in a beauty supply store, but that means nothing! My unruly, kinky, frizzy hair and knowing how to have it looking beautiful is what qualifies me to even write about this subject.

As I mentioned I worked in a beauty supply store and have literally tried thousands of products in my 38 years on earth. I have come up with solutions. Let me share which products work best for frizzy hair!

As I begin my thoughts, please feel free to glance around my blog. I spent time hand picking my favorite products, that I personally use, to place around my blog. Feel free to check them out.

Products for Frizzy Hair, to wear a straight hair style
I have a regimen, when I straighten my hair, I start by shampooing and conditioning my hair, although I love Rusk shampoo and Conditioner, sometimes I buy cheaper. As long as you purchase a deep conditioner. (Do not buy leave in conditioner.)
Then I towel dry my hair and put Tresemme mouse in my hair (Yes! even when I am going to straighten my hair, and this is the key product for frizzy hair!) I blow dry my hair thoroughly, and then use my Rusk Flat iron. Their flat irons are not the cheapest on the market, but well worth every penny. They will last you many years. I like Rusk ceramic Flat Irons. (I must add, I have tried several different hot irons and the Rusk flat irons are heads above anything else!)

Now that my hair is straight, I add Rusk Sea Kelp Serum. It smooths the hair and leaves a touch of shine. You can actually use this on wet hair or dry, I personally use it on dry. And bonus, it smells great! This is a must have product for frizzy hair.

Products for Frizzy Hair- Curly hair style
When I wear my hair curly, I wash my hair the same and add the tresemme mouse. I use a great powerful blow dryer and diffuser and scrunch my hair as I blow dry. Make sure you dry your hair completely.

So that about sums it up. My favorite products for frizzy hair are Tresemme Mouse, Rusk Flat Iron, Rusk sea kelp Serum, a great blow dryer, and a shampoo and deep conditioner! Try my suggestions, you will be amazed!

The truth is anyone can straighten their hair at home, with the right products. I did graduate from Arlington Beauty Academy and also worked at a beauty supply store for a while, but that means nothing. My personal experience with my own, very unruly and frizzy hair, and trying every product on the market, is what I feel matters.

You may look at my Photo above and think, her hair is not that bad, but trust me.......hehe that picture was taken after doing my hair. I have Italian hair that is the absolute frizziest hair I have seen, with kinky curls. Maybe in a latter post I can add a before I do my hair photo, you will not believe it!

Enough about me! You came here to hear about hair straightening products, and I have some advice. I have found a perfect combination of hair products that works for me and I will share them.

Hair Straightening Products- Flat irons
Invest in a good flat iron. You may look around the page and notice I spent time finding my personal favorite hot irons, that work wonders. My personal favorite is Rusk. They are not the cheapest available, but well worth the extra money. My last Rusk Flat iron lasted 7 years, so if you think of it that way and how long you will have it, spending the money is easier. If you have hair like I do, there is a huge difference in products that work and products that do not. Find a flat iron that gets hot, the hotter the better. I, personally like the ceramic irons, they are smoother on the hair and just seem to work better. You may notice there are different size flat iron plates to choose from, that does not really matter, choose if you want a larger or smaller plate.

Hair Straightening Products- Smoothing Serum
You will also notice I included Rusk Sea Kelp Serum here in an ad, yes I personally found it and purposely added it here for you to find more easily. You can use this while your hair is wet or dried. I personally straighten my hair and then add the Rusk Serum and it smooths and finishes my hair with a bit of shine, (and PS! it smells wonderful.) This smoother is pretty cheap and you will fall in love with it.

Hair Straightening Products
After I shampoo and Condition my hair, I towel dry my hair and add Tresemme Mouse, yes it sounds weird, but as I mentioned, I have TRIED EVERYTHING. I use Tresemme Mouse before I blow dry my hair for a straight look and I use it when I will be doing a curly look. It is cheap, under $5 and it works. I had tried every expensive product out there and the Tresemme is the only thing I use after towel drying.

Hair Straightening Products- Shampoo & Conditioner
I personally, do not believe that the shampoo or conditioner you use when straightening your hair matters that much, again I love Rusk and included the shampoo and conditioner in the ads, to the side, but often I will save money and buy cheaper products. As long as you have a moisturizing Conditioner, it really does not matter. From a beautician stand point, it matters, but again, my blog is on personal experience.

Hair Straightening Products- One last Tip
You can use a blow dryer and brush to straighten your hair, you just need to start at the bottom of your hair and take section by section (small sections) and completely dry each piece, as you go. I do prefer a flat iron over a blow dryer!

I was compelled to write this blog because I have the most difficult hair, I have ever seen. I have Italian, totally frizzy hair. If I would wash my hair and dry it, with NO product in my hair, I would have a "hot mess." My hair resembles a Brillo pad!!
I do wear my hair curly, at times, but when I want to straighten my hair, I want it to look as smooth and soft, as possible. I have experimented with not only the best flat irons out there, but with products, as well.
I am a graduate of Arlington Beauty Academy and did work at a Beauty Supply store, as well. But honestly, that means nothing. What gives me experience in this field and finding the best hot irons, is simply my own hair and that alone speaks volumes.

I am assuming the women or girls reading this, have difficult hair, as I do. Women with nice behaved hair do not need to even look up "The Best Flat irons" on the Internet, because quite frankly, any hot iron will work for them. Women reading an article on The Best Flat irons have frizzy, unruly, unmanageable hair!!!

My first tip on finding the best flat iron is to find a flat iron that gets hot, the hotter the better.

My second tip on finding the best flat iron is to buy a ceramic flat iron. Personally, I believe these work better on unruly hair.

My last tip is do not be afraid to spend money on your flat iron. The reason I mention this is because I am the Queen of Bargains and quite a cheapskate. I had to learn the hard way that when it comes to flat irons, it is best to spend the money on a good one. A good flat iron lasts many years and pays off in the end!
